Rotala Colorata is an uncommon aquarium stem plant with leaves that range from orange to bright red and pink hues. It grows similar to other Rotala species but the leaves have much more vivid coloration, resulting in a very pleasing mid to background plant depending on the aquarium it's planted in. Like all aquatic stem plants, Rotala Colorata can be repeatedly trimmed and replanted to create a lush thick bush, making it a perfect addition to any planted tank that demands color. Unlike other Rotala species, this Rotala seems to produce intense colors even when in moderate lighting. However, to bring the best out of this plant, we recommend intense lighting, CO2 injection and a complete macro and micro-nutrient supply. Results are improved with soft water as well.
